Join us and visit some of our favorite Caribbean islands that we’ve got to know so well during their Broadreach days, and ring in the New Year in Antigua! This trip will be a combination of offshore passagemaking & exploration ashore, including hiking ashore, lobster cookouts in the Grenadines, & swimming with sea turtles. If we have the opportunity, we'll hire a local guide ashore for some hiking and exploring.

Join the boat in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua, one of our favorite anchorages in all the Caribbean, and a place we've spent more and more time since 2016. Falmouth and adjacent English Harbour were the sites of Nelson's British Navy fleet in the 1700's and much of the old buildings remain. Additionally Falmouth is the winter home port for many of the world's superyachts, so you'll see some INCREDIBLE boats docked there on arrival. The cool part is that while the yachts are based here, they are normally 'not working' - so Falmouth has become a place for yachtie crews to come and unwind and hang out ashore, making the local watering holes and restaurants far more easygoing and inexpensive than a place like St. Barth's, where the yachts go on charter and are in 'working mode' with guests.
Once the crew arrives, we'll depart the Antigua in the evening or the next morning for our first offshore passage. There will be several places to stop en route to Grenada, depending on the weather and the makeup of the crew. Some of our favorites include:

...and of course the Grenadines & Tobago Cays!
Once in Grenada we'll take a short break there to explore the color markets in St. Georges on the 'Spice Island,' or head inland for some hiking in the mountains and perhaps a visit to a waterfall or two. Grand Anse beach is just a short walk from St. Georges harbour, and at two miles long is spectacular. It also happens to be the scene of the first chapter of the final installment of Stieg Larsson's 'Millenium Trilogy' for those of you 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' nerds out there like Andy!
The second half of the passage will be a nonstop, 400 mile blast reach back to the BVI. In 2017 we recorded our fastest-ever 24-hour run on this route, making 200 miles per day for two days straight! Spectacular tradewind sailing! If we're early on arrival, we'll swing into St. Croix, part of the USVI and another of our favorite hideaways not many people get to by sailboat, and then finish the trip with the 40-mile daysail back north.
