Synopsis
The return passage from Horta in the Azores to Lanzarote, where ICEBEAR will get a rest after a LONG season, awaiting her next trans-Atlantic passage in February 2022.
Fall in the eastern Atlantic is a great time to make a long passage, and connecting two classic Atlantic Islands waypoints is a fantastic way to see the high seas! We’ll set sail back to Lanzarote in the Spanish Canary Islands, from Horta in the Portugese Azores, 950 miles on the rhumb line and what should, with luck, be a beam-reach most of the way as we skirt the east side of the Azores high and return to ICEBEAR’s fall off-season berth.
