Synopsis
Join dream team August Sandberg and his beloved ISBJØRN in Bergen, Norway for the first expedition of the season – westbound across the North Sea for Scotland! We’ll call at Orkney & Fair Isle before finishing the passage in Lerwick, Shetland.
ISBJØRN was launched in April 1972, so this will be her 50th birthday! We’ll make sure to celebrate her properly. She might be an old, eccentric lady, but handled properly, she’s the best there is.
Growing up on the west coast of Norway, August knows every rock and current you will encounter on the way. He has sailed across the North Sea many times, and will be your travel guide as well as skipper.
The Route
Itinerary
April 28 Join ISBJØRN in Bergen, Norway at 1700. Dinner with the group either ashore or onboard.
April 29: Safety briefing & boat orientation
April 30: Departure! (Weather dependent)
May 8: Crew depart ISBJØRN in Scotland (port TBA) by 1200 noon.
Travel Logistics
Fly into Oslo and take the train to Bergen, or fly right into Bergen!
Fly out of Scotland, airport TBD.
How to Join
To register, complete the Offshore Passage Registration by clicking the 'Register Now' button above, or at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to complete the form - make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2022: Bergen - Scotland ' as your preferred passage.
Once we receive your registration, you'll be sent an invoice for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 60 days prior to the passage date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
