Synopsis

This will be a delivery/shakedown-style cruise in unpredictable winter weather in the north, the real-thing. Therefore, stops on the route, timing of departures, etc will be more uncertain than our standard passages, and we’ll be testing out ISBJORN’s new systems after the refit. This is an excellent opportunity to really learn hands-on how to get a newly refit boat from point A to point B.

Travel to the famous Vindö Marin boatyard on the stunning West Coast of Sweden and step aboard a shiny, freshly refit ISBJØRN! After making our way through the beautiful Swedish archipelago, we’ll head into the Skagerrak Strait and set sail for ISBJØRN’s and August’s home port of Bergen—the most beautiful city in the world.

Expected Weather Pattern

Complicated weather systems can make this a challenging stretch of ocean at this time of year, and you’re guaranteed to learn a lot about weather strategy. All points of sail are possible on this voyage, and there are many interesting strategic options available underway.

Tentative Itinerary

• Feb 24: Join ISBJØRN at Vindön, Sweden at 13:00. Dinner with the group either ashore or onboard

• Feb 25: All-day safety briefing & boat orientation

• Feb 26: Departure! (Weather dependent)

• Mar 3: Disembark ISBJØRN in Bergen, Norway by 12:00 Noon

Travel Logistics

• Fly into Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport (GOT) located about 116 km from Vindö.

• Fly directly out of Bergen (BGO), or take the train to Oslo to fly out.

How to Join

To register, complete the Offshore Passage Registration by clicking the 'Sign Up' button above, or at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to complete the form - make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2024: Vindön - Bergen' as your preferred passage. 

Once we receive your registration, you'll be sent an invoice for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 60 days prior to the passage date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
