Synopsis
Join FALKEN in charming Lagos, Portugal for the first passage of the 2025 season! Depart from Portugal’s beautiful Algarve coast to cross the busy shipping lanes of the Strait of Gibraltar. From there we’ll follow the rhumb line southwest to the Canary Islands. This passage typically gives us following breezes with good opportunity for spinnaker sailing. Air temperatures will pleasantly get warmer before making landfall in the Canaries.

The Route
Expected Weather Pattern
Starting with cooler temperatures, this passage will get steadily warmer with glorious downwind sailing along the way. The Canaries will provide a warm welcome and easy access to the airport.
Tentative Itinerary
Jan 1: Join the boat in Lagos, Portugal at 13:00. Dinner with the group either ashore or onboard.
Jan 2: All-day safety briefing & boat orientation
Jan 3: Departure! (Weather dependent)
Jan 8: Depart the boat in Las Palmas, Canary Islands by 12:00 (Noon)
Travel Logistics
Fly into Lisbon’s international airport (LIS), 300 km from Lagos. Or, fly into the small regional airport right outside of Lagos. Meet the boat in the marina.
Fly out of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria airport (LPA)
As with all our passages, we strongly advise organizing the APPROPRIATE TRAVEL INSURANCE to cover the full cost of your trip.
How to Join
To register, complete the Offshore Passage Registration by clicking the 'Sign Up' button above, or at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to complete the form - make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2025 // FALKEN: Lagos – Canary Islands' as your preferred passage.
Once we receive your registration, you'll be sent an invoice for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 60 days prior to the passage date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
