Synopsis

Join ISBJØRN above the Arctic Circle to explore the magnificent Lofoten Islands archipelago - a lush, Arctic paradise. Sail from Bodø across Vestfjorden where sheltered bays, jagged mountain peaks, and picturesque fishing villages await you in the land of the midnight sun! After exploring the Lofoten Islands, we’ll sail south along Norway’s rugged west coast. Along the way, take in stunning landscapes, wildlife encounters and Viking lore. All points of sail are possible on this offshore passage with likely some good downwind sailing while heading down the coast. Days will get shorter and nights will get longer as we sail back south below the Arctic Circle and navigate into the historic port of Bergen.

Expected Weather Pattern

The weather on the Norwegian coast can be unpredictable, even in the summer. Full foul weather gear and thermal long underwear are definitely recommended with possibility of rain, squalls and cool temperatures, but also warm sunshine at any time. All points of sail are possible on this voyage with likely more downwind sailing while heading down the coast.

Tentative Itinerary

• Aug 7: Join ISBJØRN in Bodø, Norway at 17:00. Dinner with the group ashore or onboard.

• Aug 8: All-day safety briefing & boat orientation

• Aug 9: Departure! (Weather dependent)

• Aug 17: Disembark ISBJØRN in Bergen by 12:00 Noon

Travel Logistics

• Fly into Bodø, Norway airport (BOO) via Oslo (OSL).

• Fly directly out of Bergen (BGO), or take the train to Oslo (OSL) to fly out.

How to Join

To register, complete the Offshore Passage Registration by clicking the 'Sign Up' button above, or at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to complete the form - make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2023: Lofoten Islands - Bergen' as your preferred passage. 

Once we receive your registration, you'll be sent an invoice for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 60 days prior to the passage date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
