Synopsis
Our first-ever passage in the Pacific Ocean, and one of the world’s classic routes! Sail west into the Pacific from Panama, towards the Equator and make landfall in arguably the most exotic islands in the world, the famed Galapagos! Details remain to be sorted out on the regulatory-side, but we are SO excited to take FALKEN to these magical islands and share it with you! Enjoy a 1,000-mile passage and get time to explore the Galapagos on arrival.

The Route
Expected Weather Pattern
Despite the proximity to the Equator, this passage has a reputation for being cold and foggy thanks to the cold-water Humbolt current that will affect the weather most of the way. But it’ll be HOT when we leave Panama, so you’ll need a little bit of everything gear-wise. Hopefully the Tradewinds will cooperate and give us smooth downwind sailing!
Tentative Itinerary
Mar 19: Join the boat in Balboa, Panama outside of Panama City at 13:00. Dinner with the group either ashore or onboard.
Mar 20: All-day safety briefing & boat orientation
Mar 21: Departure! (Weather dependent)
Mar 31: Depart the boat in the Galapagos Islands by 12:00 Noon
Travel Logistics
Fly into Panama City’s international airport (PTY) and meet the boat at the marina. PTY is the busiest airport in Central America, offering international flights with a wide range of airlines, making it easily accessible from major cities around the world.
Fly out of the Galapagos Island to mainland Ecuador. Continue with your international flight home out of Quito (UIO) or Guayaquil (GYE) airports.
As with all our passages, we strongly advise organizing the APPROPRIATE TRAVEL INSURANCE to cover the full cost of your trip.
